About this product
Glucophage Tablets 500mg contain Metformin Hydrochloride, the globally recommended first-line oral antidiabetic agent for Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity without causing hypoglycaemia.
Key Uses: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (first-line therapy), pre-diabetes / insulin resistance, PCOS-associated insulin resistance, adjunct in combination antidiabetic therapy, weight management in insulin-resistant patients. Composition: Metformin Hydrochloride 500mg per tablet.
Pack of 30 tablets. Dosage: Typically 500mg twice or three times daily with meals. Dose adjusted gradually to minimise GI side effects. As prescribed by physician. ⚠️ Prescription Required: Monitor renal function — contraindicated in eGFR <30. Hold before contrast procedures.
Lactic acidosis risk in renal/hepatic impairment.
